Purchased a Belle Rouge in my 32 ounce growler 2 days ago at the Axeman.
LOOK: Pours a heavy hazed gold with a loose all white head that recedes while leaving a heavy dose of side glass lace.
AROMA: Citrus with grapefruit at the forefront. Definitly dank along with a tart aroma and a little papaya.
TASTE: Pick up some rasberries and some yeasty bread., for me the grapefuit iremais quiite noticeable, while not being dominant. Solied New England IPA.

Axemann Brewery "Belle Rouge"
12 fl. oz. can without production codes or freshness dating
$2.33 @ Wegmans, State College, PA
Notes via stream of consciousness: A rough pour delivers a very hazy golden body that's capped by a short head of white foam. The aroma is berry-like. Is this a fruit beer? Nah, there's nothing listed on the label. It's really brightly fruity with berries and orange. It's also lightly floral. On to the taste... wow, more berries! It's like a combination of raspberries and strawberries. I generally get the raspberry followed by the strawberry but not always. It's a nice blend. Very nice. Some orange remains as well. The malt is sweetish, wheaty, and oat-like. Uggh, the head has fallen to nothing at this point. Damn. Back to the taste, it's got a firm bitterness and although it's sweetish and fruity upfront it finishes dry with some residual fruit and earthiness lingering shortly. That's really nice. In the mouth it's medium bodied and gently crisp with a moderate carbonation that leaves it smooth. Unfortunately that same moderate carbonation is also leaving it with a limited head retention, at least partially; I'll assume that a fair amount of head retention properties were lost somewhere in production. This is a pretty well balanced NEIPA with a unique character but some flaws hold it back.
