Pours orange with a dull hue. Very heavy haze to the translucency. Head is two fingers of white foam with good retention. Aroma is tropical fruits, papaya, lemon zest, and grassy hops. Flavor profile is back to tropical fruits, then papaya, lemon grass, and zesty hops. Doughy malts and spicy yeast wrap it up. Mouth feel is medium in thickness. Texture is creamy with a little fuzziness to it. Overall, hits the spot well. Nice tropical fruits without being a juice bomb.

I love the name Wick, reminds me of a blockbuster movie. This beer is from Pathlight Brewing and the second beer from the state of Kansas. This beer is 42 degrees and served in a pint glass. The pour created a frothy and airy white head with fair retention. Some lacing was left on the glass after it dissipated. The head is similar to a Coors, I did not think it was going to adhere to the glass. I wanted to see a billowy and thick head. The color of the beer is SRM 4, pale straw with subtle golden hues. This is a hazy beer, like a New England IPA. The appearance of the head is okay.
The initial aromas in the beer are mango, pineapple, and oranges. Next, I smell malty sweetness, doughnuts, toasted crackers, lemons, and a touch floral. Nosing further, I detect a splash of phenols, dew, guava, and a scent of grapefruit.
The flavors in the beer are lemons, peaches, guava, toasted bread crust, lightly toasted malt, floral esters, pine resin, grapefruit, a touch of bay leaves, a dank basement, and a smidge of phenols.
The mouthfeel of the beer is somewhat astringent, carbonated, and dry.
The body of the beer is Medium, medium-plus carbonation, and medium,-plus finish.
The aromas in the beer are mouthwatering, and the flavor just does not match up. The beer kind of comes across as a hybrid, but it is not. The malt comes across as a bakery to me; like I just step inside of a doughnut shop, and the bready sweetness permeates in the air. I was hoping for that to come across in the taste. The hops are good, but I wanted just a touch more hop punch. A good IPA, I will drink again.
