On draft at Pathlight. Poured a dark burgundy color with a small, khaki-colored head of foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of plum, fig, roasted malt and toffee. Sweet dark fruit taste with toffee, malt and some spices.

Pours a deep red-copper, with a large, off-white head that collapses after a few minutes. The aroma has lots of alcohol sweetness, mixed in with some clove and bubblegum.
The taste also has that expected candy sugar/alcohol sweetness that Belgian dark ales have, along with more clove and banana flavors. Finish is slightly warming with a malt-induced sweetness.
It’s a decent local take on the style, but comes off just a bit less than the sun of its parts.
