Pours black with a finger of khaki foam. Aroma is heavy roasty and toasty malts. Caramel, brownie batter, and a blend of figs, dates, and dark fruits develop a hearty, heavy simplistic stout aroma. Barrel adds some additional oomph, while still retaining balance. Flavor profile is roasty and toasty malts. Heavy dark fruits, especially a in a pour a month or two after the release. Figs, dates, caramel, and char and barrel further develop the storyline of this heavy stout. Barrel adds some depth, but not booziness. Some late brownie batter gives the whole profile a little more chocolately finish. Mouth feel is thick with a full consistency. Creamy texture that gets stamped out by the weight of the beer/alcohol. Overall, pretty darn spectacular. While it's dark fruits heavy, it still retains a quality heavy stout presence in every whiff and sip.
