Pours black with a finger of khaki foam. Aroma is coconut right from the onset. It's a smooth induction of semi-sweetness. Dark fruits, caramel, roasty & toasty malts, and barrel further develop the aroma, bringing balance to the initial coconut. Chocolate shows up as the beer warms. It's sly and smooth. Flavor profile starts with coconut just the same as the aroma. Dark fruits, brownie batter, and caramel develop some sweetness, with roasty and toasty malts layering over and between barrel and char for depth. Heavy chocolate on the finish. Coconut does well to accentuate the base imperial stout here, retaining those heavy stout characteristics. Mouth feel is thick with a filling, semi-creamy texture. Overall, a balanced booze bomb. Coconut does really well here to further develop the creaminess and sip-ability of this heavy stout.

Draft. 2022 vintage, consumed/noted fresh. Reviewed from notes.
