An English style barleywine we brewed a year ago, before laying a portion of it to age in Few bourbon barrels. We set to achieve malt complexity from a simple grain bill of the finest English and Belgian malts, through an extensive boil and blending post-barrel ageing. The locally sourced Few bourbon barrels complement the complex malt profile with a warm, boozy touch, accentuating the toffee and honey malt character with oak, and slight char.

Had on tap. Mostly opaque pecan brown body with a tan collar that slowly fades. Smell and taste are the same: bourbon and barley lead in a rugged way, toffee malt, rustic grain, and toasty oak back. The feel is a little too warm for my preferences, but this would age well, really nice barley textures, lighter.
