The Bard is a classic London Porter, brewed with a blend of rich malts and traditional English hops. Its deep, dark color and creamy tan head are a testament to the roasted English malts utilized in the grain bill, similar to ones developed when the style was initially invented, dating back to at least the early 1700's. On the palate, The Bard delivers a smooth and velvety texture, with notes of dark chocolate, espresso, and a hint of smokiness. The complex malty backbone is balanced by a subtle bitterness, provided by the addition of East Kent Goldings hops.
