We collaborated with our friends at Dust Off Brewing in Rock Hill for this hefty brew. Bambi Bucket Barleywine is a rich and malt-forward beer but is also very approachable, even at 11.3% ABV.

A: Pours a crystal clear medium reddish amber in color with light amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising slowly from the bottom of the glass and moderate burnt orange + dark golden yellow + garnet red + ruby red + honey colored highlights. The beer has a two finger fizzy sudsy beige head that quickly reduces to a very small patch of mottled very thin film and a very thin ring at the edges of the glass. Minimal amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Slightly stronger than moderate aromas of bready + toasted + caramel + toasted malts with a moderate amount of light fruit (pear + white grape) sweetness. Light aromas of earthy + herbal + spicy hops. Hints of slightly spicy Belgian yeast.
T: Upfront there is a slightly stronger than moderate flavors of bready + toasted + caramel + toasted malts with a moderate amount of light fruit (pear + white grape) sweetness. That is followed by light to moderate flavors of slightly spicy Belgian yeast. Finally there is a light flavor of earthy + spicy + herbal hops which impart a light amount of bitterness which lingers into the finish.
M: Medium to full bodied with light amounts of carbonation.
O: Drinks a bit easier than the 11.3% ABV but this is a strange one for me - seems like some kind of hybrid of a British Barleywine and a Belgian Tripel.
