I bought this copy at Nicolas Kew Garden. (While they are a wine store franchise, this store uniquely has a curated collection of French and local London brews.)
This is my second from Brasseurs Unis. On the first, I gave them good Overall Hugs and I increase to very good now for their tripel because they appear persistent. BU is helpful to their region (near the Pyrenees) developing beer culture amidst wine culture. Their website also has videos critiquing different brews; albeit only in French.
Grosse Becane Looks like a good tripel, nice foam on an amber bod and an antique worn look to its label. However, Smells are merely fruity, the tree fruit I expect from a tripel. Tastes are barely above the style's average as there is a lingering cloying that I do not wish to have again. Not quite medium-mouthed in this full style. A Sante" !

Bottle: Poured a deep golden color ale with large off-white foamy head with good retention and some light lacing. Aroma of grainy malt notes with some fusel alcohol and candi sugar notes. Taste is also a mix of grainy malt notes with some fusel alcohol notes and residual candi sugar notes. Body is about average for style with good carbonation. Lack of balance and attenuation makes for a sub-standard tripel.
