2023 vintage; consumed on 5/6/2024
Pours a dense, motor-oil hue capped with a short-lived finger of khaki-hued foam, receding quickly to a blank surface, thin, frothy collar, and no lacing holding to the walls of the glass.
Aromas waft organic peanut butter cup and dark chocolate upfront, steadily embracing an effortlessly integrated char as creamy vanilla underlies a bourbon imbuement, leaving a deeper, weightier bittersweetness lingering.
Taste offers creamy peanut butter and prickly barrel upfront, projecting a soft bourbon air as heavy char peaks through the mid-palate and lingers to a back end coated with toasted malt and dark chocolate residuals.
Mouthfeel brings a body on the heavier end of medium and minimal carbonation; a creamy silk expands into ample yet subliminal warmth, with a bittering char past the mid-palate balancing a semi-sticky weight on the finish.
Peanut integration proves a stellar contrast to the burly bittersweetness, emphasizing deeper dark cocoa and roasted malt accents while maintaining a steady confectionary richness underlying the more prominent aspects of the barrel-aged base.
