Rough pour gives a medium-light black appearance with a khaki head and lacing. Smell is dominated by the roasted malt and smoke, as is proper, some campfire wood and a kiss of molasses. Taste is more complex but begins to stray from the roasted and smoky base that wowed the masses in the smell: brown sugar with molasses and honey now, licorice, but campfire wood rounded it out to save it, with light earth and dark chocolate. Feel is smoky, roasted percolation, woody in a light but constant way, chewy, and malty. Very nice robust porter
