The kicked up version of Queen Citra. We have always celebrated the hopping theory that more equals more. When you take Queen Citra, a Triple New England IPA that is kettle hopped, biohopped, and triple dry hopped with Citra, it’s hard to add more but we figured out how. We replaced the first dry hop with Citra Cryohops, a way to give you twice the citrus lupulin punch. The Cryo Queen delivers twice the beautiful orange flavors and fireworks of juiciness.

16oz can served in a Kane tulip. Dated 10-01-2021. Received from @MacMalt in BIF #14.

Pours a hazy bright orange-gold with about a finger of creamy head that collapses into a fairly even skin with a few bumpy blemishes. Poured thick with a flash of carbonation that almost reminded me of nitro. Smell is a bit of booze and very ripe tropical fruit, mango and pineapple.

Taste is pretty similar but much more intense. More booze, more tropical fruit (though not quite as ripe-seeming). Also has a nice resin/mango skin bitterness to clean up at the end.

Mouthfeel is somewhat thick and chewy, somewhat effervescent. This is very enjoyable.

Canned on 10/1/2021 so one day old when reviewed. Poured into a Tin Barn snulip glass. It pours a turbid, dirty tangerine color with very little head . The lacing is more attractive. But the nose is huge: lemon, grapefruit, tangerine, and ripe cantaloupe,. It has a wonderful "fresh squeezed" smell. The taste is also big and fruity. It opens with tart lemon and grapefruit, along with sweeter orange, ripe melon, tropical fruit, and creamy oats. It drinks like a fruity punch. There is little hop bitterness but a hint of yeast burn at the finish which should diminish with some time in the can. It's full-bodied with a thick, creamy mouthfeel. The carbonation level is appropriate, and the 9.3% ABV is barely noticeable. Don't drink it too quickly. Overall, Cryo Queen is a bigger, hoppier version of Queen Citra and succeeds in every respect. Tin Barn is very good at brewing hazy, New England IPAs
