A fruity treat in a can, Rare Candy is a kettle soured ale loaded with over 40 lbs. per barrel of blueberry and raspberry puree resulting in a truly refreshing ale.

Tap pour at the brewery. Served in a tapered glass with flat bottom and no stem.
Berry red body color, and dense looking. Longer lasting pinkish white head. Leaves behind webs of lacing.
Aroma of berry and lactic acid.
Taste is sour berry, with a later touch of sweetness. Lactic acid arrives in the aftertaste.
Medium mouth feel. Texture is both mouth coating and drying. Not an extreme tooth scraper. Good carbonation.
Fruity berry kettle sour that is balanced and unthreatening as to sourness level.

Got another great haul from Sam. Untappd description read “This is a limited edition for taproom and crowler sales. We took one keg from this batch to sell in our taproom and the rest you will be able to find in liquor stores. This fruited sour is LOADED with 40 pounds of blueberry and raspberry per BBL and is by far our favorite sour we have put out yet!” Damn that sounded great.
Poured a light-to-medium copper color with two fingers of fizzy off-white head. Could see just a few bubbles coming up along the sides of the glass. Good watery lacing. Decent retention. (Sight - 3.75)
Smelled blueberry, raspberry, Blue Raspberry Blow Pop candy, Mtn Dew Voltage, purple grape and blackberry. Even better out of the can. (Smell - 4.25)
Tasted even better than the nose. In order got blueberry, raspberry, Blue Raspberry Blow Pop candy, Mtn Dew Voltage, Sweet Tart candy, purple grape and blackberry. (Taste - 4.50)
Medium body. Sticky texture. Average carbonation. Long, tart finish. (Feel - 4.50)
Just an excellent fruited sour. Right up my alley. (Overall - 4.25)
