Canned at the brew pub. As often happens here, Orkenoy pushes the stylistic envelope. I prefer the description on UnTappd (probably provided by the brewer) that says Morti "has toasty chocolate notes you'd expect from a Baltic Porter with half the ABV."

A few minutes after the pour, Morti Looks different; almost like a dark red wine... OK, but still needs foam of a traditional porter. Morti Smells like a porter, but not as strong... also no traditional British "stale," but that's OK. Morti Tastes balanced, mostly malt as a good porter should. Full enough in the mouth for 4.2 ABV. Morti tasted good with roasted potatoes and a mustard sauce and surprisingly good with a BBQ sauce.

Overall, another interesting offering from my interesting neighborhood brewer... of which I am lucky to have many.

Very solid in most regards with only the feel being a bit full for a porter but the richness of roasted grain and coffee flavor makes up for that. Well done.
