Picked up at Aldi. 7.99 for a quad of tall boys. Popping the top I get a waft of pine, grapefruit and hops. Pours to a massive head pee yellow. Taste is a sweet and sour nicely carbonated nicely bodied imbibement with an equally hopped and sour finish. The beer is dry hopped but still has a nice hoppiness throughout. A very nice hot weather beer. A great twist on the style. A winner, especially price wise in these days of $12-$20 six packs!!

This is definitely more like a Flemish sour than an IPA. The smell confirms the sour ale billing. Color is dark straw with a creamy white head the dissipates fairly quickly but has a little staying power.
Taste is classic sour, nicely complimented by the hoppy bitterness. Both dominant notes linger in the aftertaste. Carbonation and mouthfeel are spot-on.
This is light enough to be a summer choice but by no means a pusillanimous beer. I would gladly drink this to brighten up a dreary winter day.

Poured from a can into a pint glass. Pours orange yellow with a fluffy white head. Smells of sweet grain. Tastes of sweet grain with nice bright fruit notes, especially citrus. Beer is light bodied and easy drinking, good carbonation. Overall, a very good beer.

Dry Hopped Sour has a thick, fizzing-away, white head and a gold appearance, with minimal lacing. The aroma is of pungent, funky, yeasty white bread and lemon zest. The flavor is very tart, with low bitterness, some sweetness. Dry Hopped Sour has a medium body and a mostly dry finish.

Not sure of the style here. Smells of lemon zest, citrus and you can tell it will be a little sour. Flavor is lemon, cracker and a slight sour hint. Light, refreshing, decent sour

This beer is a diversion for bored beer drinkers. It will appeal to you if:
1. You enjoy IPAs but are bored
2. You love sour tastes
Without comparing this to other sour beers I think the brewmaster got a lot right here. I prefer lively mouth feel and this is effervescent feeling. For instance, I like Guiness Extra Stout over Guiness Draught due to the flatter mouth feel of the latter. This is refreshing. The dry finish leaves a clean palette so it should pair well with those elaborate charcuterie platters among other foods. Since the price is right at Aldi I can not think of a single complaint as the look and lacing are clear and bracing…so what’s not to enjoy here???

Appearance: Hazy golden brown in color, with a very large, and persistent white head. Miriad streams of fine bubbles drift lazily to the surface. Belgian-style lacing adorns the glass wall.
Aroma: Fairly strong notes of vinegar and herbal hops dominate the aroma .There is some ghostly pale malt, though it is very much in the background.
Taste: The taste opens with a strong tang of vinegar and grapefruit. This carries throughout much of the taste. Grapefruit hops present throughout, and there is a bit of pale malt, struggling to be noticed. Finishes with a mild, lingering and dry sour note.
Mouth feel: Smooth, soft, full, and very pleasant, with the carbonation little noted.
Drinkability/notes: A very unusual example. I am glad I tried it, though I feel no need to do so again.
Presentation: Packaged in a standard twelve-ounce brown glass longneck bottle with a pry-off crown, served in a La Fin du Monde tulip glass. Beer number five in the 2022 Aldi Beer Advent calendar.

16 fl oz. can, apparently best by 10/23/2023 so it seems like they date them to have a shelf life of one year. No real information on the can aside from "Dry-Hopped Sour". Another new one from the beer section at Aldi and my third review of a beer by State Of Brewing.
Poured to Camp Crystal Lake stemless wine snifter.
Pours a cloudy yellow-gold body with a good finger's worth of frothy white foam head. Appears adequately carbonated and leaves good fluffy lacing on the glass. Looks pretty good.
Aroma doesn't offer a whole lot at first, but opens up as it sits: just a small hint of 'sour', pale bready malt, earthy herbal hops, touch of citrus (lemon & lime), and perhaps a hint toward bubblegum (Belgian?) yeast presence.
Taste: definitely the least sour 'sour' beer I've had. There is what feels like the tiniest bit of lactobacillus in this, which gives it a slight pucker at the forefront, but it dies away almost instantly. What's left is more of a pale ale type flavor: bready, biscuity, malty, with earthy herbal hop presence. Not piney, bitter, or resinous.
Feel is smooth, crisp, fairly easy drinking. Carbonation is a tad high, but works with what we've got.
Overall, definitely not quite suited to style, but interesting, and not undrinkable at that. Would not recommend this to sour beer lover's, however.. With some tweaking, I could see this turning out better.

From the can in the 2022 Aldi Bier Advent Calendar, it pours a hazy amber color with a modest white head, soon diminishing to a thin ring. The nose gets a spicy sour scent. The mouth gets a sour wallop, followed by tart malt.
