Appearance: Bright gold in color, with faint haziness. The head is mall, coarse, persistent and snow white. Patches of fat bubbles cling to the inner glass wall, while profuse streams of smaller bubbles drift lazily to the surface. The lacing is profuse and scattered in connected islands, resembling some fantastic archipelago of a time unremembered.
Aroma: White bread malt and grassy and mild pine hops dominate te aroma, seeming simple and pleasant.
Taste: On tasting, there is fairly substantial white bread malt, and mild grassy and pine hops. These carry throughout the taste. There is mild bitterness, which lingers past the close of the taste.
Mouth feel: Quite soft and full, with moderate, slightly sharp carbonation.
Drinkability/notes: A simple, yet very well-crafted example, quite drinkable. While more appropriate to warmer months, I nonetheless found it quite enjoyable on a cool autumn evening.
Presentation: Packaged in a standard twelve-ounce aluminum can, served in a South American-style Pilsener glass.

Hoppy Lager has a very thick, spongy white head and a mostly clear, golden appearance, with evident sediment. The aroma is of white bread crust and a touch of piney hop resin. The flavor is similar, with low bitterness and sweetness, Hoppy Lager has a low-medium body and a dry finish.

From the can in the 2022 and 2023 Aldi Bier Advent Calendar, it pours a clear yellow color with a modest white head that lasts and leaves some spotty lacing. The nose gets citrus and sweet malt. The mouth gets a light pleasant initially slightly bitter light malt brew. Easy drinking.
