Pours an unfiltered golden color, exactly as described in the “beer style description” here on BA, and sports a compact white head that lingers and provides a nice ring atop the body of the beer as you enjoy it. Beautiful kellerbier.

The nose features floral hop aromas, some lemongrass, and a nice bit of cereal grain. This bouquet of aromas has that “this is a beer drinker’s beer” nose that I associate with well-executed lagers.

The lemongrass is more pronounced and works really well with the subtle floral hop flavors and the substance and balance of the cereal grains. The bottle label says this beer is a “rustic, full flavored pale lager,” which is a perfect description of this beer.

The mouthfeel is medium and just a smidge short of crisp, but it’s still so drinkable. Very well done.

May 15, 2024 update: This new version (Batch 13) is quite clear, and the mouth-filling soft carbonation adds to the pleasure. Lovely cereal taste with that kiss of flowery hops-- I'd rate it higher, and go look for another bottle.

Unfiltered pale Lager "inspired by the beers of Franconia." Pours a slightly hazed amber with modest foam in the Troubadour tulip. Tastes rather malty, with some grain and cereal, but with a slight sourish edge. Some yeasty flavors, more like a mild Farmhouse. Only a hint of hops that leaves a wee resiny bitterness in the aftertaste. Interesting but could be more spritzy and it's stolid rather than lively. From the 500 ml bottle purchased at Garden Path Fermentation. No date, but labeled as Batch #7.

Served on 0.5l mug. Poured a lightly hazy yellow color with over an inch of white head that had very good retention and lacing.

The scent had good grains, nice yeast, and lightly floral hops.

The flavor profile was the same, just bolder and better defined.

The body was light-medium, smooth, and had a clean finish.

Drinkability was good, you could easily drain a few of these on an afternoon.

Overall, a nice, solid, and enjoyable brew. Worth trying if you see it.
