Appearance: Cloudy straw gold. Frothy white head with excellent retention. Slow rising bubbles.

Aroma: Clove & banana. Clove being prominent.

Flavor: Clove & banana esters. Spicy. Restrained but notable bitterness.

Mouthfeel: medium to full bodied. Creamy. Moderate length mouthfeel

Overall: Review is vs other Hefeweizen. An excellent, well crafted Hefe. This one exhibits more clove than banana esters. Bitterness is restrained but noticeable. Nice creamy full mouthfeel but not heavy. Previous reviewer described finish well - light & spritzy. I thought I detected a hint of smoke, which may be a flaw, but it went away quickly and I did not notice it except for the initial whiff & taste and did not detract from enjoyment. Rated it a hair under world class, but it is dang close! Well done Ironshield.

Appearance: Rich golden hue with a touch of haze and a smallish, white head.

Smell: Soft breadiness and malted wheat with a hint of honey. The ole yeasty one-two punch of clove and bananas with an extra hint of vanilla frosting.

Taste: Lightly sweet, bready taste of wheat along with the accustomed, nigh expected flourishes of vanilla, sliced banana and cracked clove. Nil hop character and bitterness. Holds its level of flavor and the initial sweetness until a sprizty flush of effervescence on the finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-plus carbonation.

Overall: Frankly, it's just nice to see any hefeweizen these days.
