At my lady Pamela's house; canned and chilled, 473mL in a pint glass. From my favourite LCBO at Tecumseh Mall in nearby Windsor. Canned July 30/25. My 3rd beer from the Orillia, Ontario brewery, and for 2025. Preciously protected for me by Sundae the cat...

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated May 22 2024 and served barely chilled.
Pours a somewhat clear pale yellow colour, with silty sediment serving to cloud up its complexion. Floating atop is one finger of tight, foamy white head that disintegrates into a sudsy collar and cap over the next two or three minutes; solid, messy lace deposition after a sip or two. I'm getting pineapple and passion fruit on the nose, with fainter hints of orange peel, watermelon candy and green tea; just a touch of ethanol, too. Weird, but I like it.
It tastes ok, like a jumble of stone fruit, pineapple, passion fruit and citrus, distributed in equal proportions so that nothing really stands out. The back end unhelpfully adds some piney, peppery/spicy hops to the mix, which makes for a jarring transition; these notes dissipate into a slightly boozy, vaguely fruity aftertaste. Medium in body, with limp carbonation that weakly brushes across the tongue; feels a little slick and clingy, which (combined with the 7%) makes this brew a slog later on in the session.
Final Grade: 3.64, a B grade. Couchiching's Summer Frost is not bad, but it's also a little... blah? The fruity hop flavours aren't unappealing, they're just not coherent enough to identifiably stand out, so it all sort of smudges together into a dull, unsatisfying matte. I still think this is a decent beer, and wouldn't discourage others from giving it a try - but as a hophead who has become kinda lukewarm on cryo hops, it's not something I plan to revisit in the immediate future.

473ml can served cold into a tulip. LCBO purchase. Listed as a cryo IPA. Canned May 22, 2024.
Appearance - Fairly hazy, ruddy golden brew with a finger plus of head. Good staying power.
Smell - Passionfruit and orange on the nose, but muted, semi-weedy with a hint of a spicy note. Unusual IPA.
Taste - Some orange and nectarine. Peach, starts bitter then decidedly sweet. Muted flavor.
Mouthfeel - Sort of thin with a watery base and lower carbonation then dry at the close.
Overall - Brewed well enough, but maybe it's the cryo impact on the hops, but this isn't a brew I'd be likely to return to.
