Pours a slightly cloudy, deep golden amber coloration wiith a large, fluffy, lasting head and slightly visible carbonation. Smells of doughy malt, fruity/spicy estery yeast notes of apricot and clove and just a hint of citrus accents. Taste is a good balance of doughy malt, zesty citrus hops and lighter fruity/spicy yeast esters with notes of orange rind, apricot and clove. Finishes with a light bitterness and some citrus and clove lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth, velvety mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
This almost reminds me more of a Witbier than a Saison, with its distinct citrus and clove notes, light maltiness, very little discernible tartness and not too heavy yeast esters, although I don't think that any citrus zest or clove was actually added to this, which sort of puts this inbetween the two styles for me. A beer that perhaps feels just a little neither here nor there, but is rather enjoyable in its own way all in all.
