these guys took over the old steady flow spot downtown, i dont think they brew there, but it is serving as a cool little taproom for them now. i had higher hopes for this one though, a really basic, not particularly well done, very american take on the style, generic cultured yeast run way too hot, past estery to phenolic, almost a chemical thing to it, really sloppy there, which is a shame, because its clean on the grain side, a mix of pale wheat and pils malts likely, simple but earthy and decent, its the yeast that throws this off. when its ice cold its white wine and stone fruit and lemon dish soap, when it warms a little its brassy and metallic, sharp and oxidized both, and tastes like its coming from a dirty line. i didnt care for this much at all, and frankly wonder if its been sitting on tap since before the pandemic began, it tastes like that. in any event, i drank it down so as not to offend the folks serving it, but this was pretty rough. fortunately i liked their helles a lot better, this needs some major cleaning up and for now seems shockingly amateur for someone investing in this taproom space...
