Pours a clouded amber color, together with a huge, spongy and froth head.

Smells of fresh cut grass, pine needles, hay and a soft toffee sweetness - simple, yet very intriguing at the same time.

Perfectly soft carbonated, refreshing, light bodied beer, with a defining bright crispness. Utterly clean and balanced, keeps you drinking in big gulbs.

Tastes of straw, with a nice bread flavor to it, revealing a chewy toffee quality, which gets immediately toned down by an uprising, noble hop bitterness. The hops provide an herbal bite, creating a pleasant dryness, which stays till the end. At the same time, a rustic, yet soft maltiness compliments to the hops, with just a light hay sweetness cutting through, among bread dough. Finishes incredibly well balanced between the dry herbs and the soothing, rural malt impression.

This is amazing, I love every aspect of it. It looks great, its head won't receed at all, smells and tastes awesomly focussed, drinks incredibly balanced and addictive.

Poured from the half liter bottle (at its limit age wise) into a glass - hazy amber with a small head. Nice unfiltered kellerbier from one of two outstanding breweries in this tiny town outside of Bamberg.

Wagner was the 3rd brewery/pub I hit on my bike tour of the area on 28SEP14. A half-litre of this vom Faß, referred to as the "You-bee" in the local slang, cost €2.00. Brewed with Spalt and Hallertau hops. Enjoyed in the Wagner Biergarten.

It was bright golden, and a touch hazy. Had a foamy, frothy, soft white head, which lasted well and left great stick. The nose was grassy and floral, a nice, typical German aroma. Body was slightly less than medium, but it was quite smooth on the tongue.

Had light bready malt action, and a hint of crackeryness with subtle sweetness. Was bitter, but in a good, German way... grassy and earthy, with a suggestion of a spicy bite in the finish. A nice brew... Prosit!

Half litre bottle, poured into over sized Tripel
Karmeliet tulip.

A: Bronze, copper colour, slightly hazy, large rocky head, good retention, lots of
lacing.

S: Citrus, bready, some freshness more reminiscent of North German beers.

T: Cork, wheaty with s nice balance of bitterness and
sharpness.

M: Smooth, medium body, moderate carbonation.

O: Decent summertime Kellerbier, didn’t do anything to stand out from an
impressive crowd.
