New Ridge Brewing "London Porter"
$5.50/pint on tap at the brewery on 1 November 2020
Look: Black in the full glass; very dark brown body with mahogany highlights. Short head of light tan. Limited head retention and lacing (served in glass).
Smell: Roasty with chocolate fudge.
Taste: Dark chocolate, bittersweet chocolate, and dark-roast coffee-like roastiness with a touch of earthy, leafy, and woody hops. Solid bitterness. Dry, long lingering roasty/ashy finish. Nicely balanced without any additional dark malt acidity.
Feel: Medium bodied and smooth.
Overall: Quite straightforward with limited nuance.
