Krinkle's Krook Stout

So this is billed as an Irish Dry Stout that's supplemented by the addition of peppermint candies. I assumed it's dry-minted because putting them in the mash would lead to much higher ABV? Or maybe not, I dunno, I'm an idiot.

Pours dark, like--erm--a stout.

Smells stouty with light mint sharpness. A little unbalanced but pleasant overall.

Up front it's a good, dry stout, the sort of beer that Portsmouth can crank out in their sleep. The peppermints take over the back end, and while they're never really intense or unpleasant the whole thing just don't jibe together too well.

I dunno. Mint stout are a gimmick I've never really been able to get behind. This certainly wasn't bad, but just not really my thing.
