Interesting twist on the style, thanks Curran for sharing.
Pours a light amber, with a small quarter inch head, and not a whole lot of lacing. Pretty unremarkable look to this one.
Smells like capdied grapefruit, pine, a little bit of sweet grain.
The oatmeal is surprisingly present in the taste, as well as the body/mouthfeel. I get a little bit of oatmeal graininess, along with a nicely nutty backbone. Unfortunately the hop flavor in this one is just a little bit boring. SImcoe and Nugget makes up the hop bill, but it doesn't seem to pop like I'd expect a hoppy beer with that combo of hops to do. Some sweet grapefruit, and fairly bitter pine resin flavors. The bitterness is slightly overwhelming, and doesn't feel very complex to me.
Medium bodied- the oats give this one a fuller body than I would've expected, which is nice. It's slightly creamy, but finishes dry and bitter, with a medium amount of carbonation.
This was interesting, but fell slightly short, unfortunately. Everything but the hop flavor worked- unfortunately, for a pale ale, the hop flavor has to work.

VT Brewfest sample.
A-Pours a light orange color.
S-Fairly generic. Oats. Not getting much distinctive hop or malt aroma. Do get some dry oats though.
T-Dried outs. Pale malt. Hop flavors are more pronounced here and they play the balancing game well.
M-Medium bodied leaning on the lighter side. Well carbonated. Short aftertaste.
O-Generic overall flavor.

First had: on tap at Portsmouth Brewery
Clearish coppery pour, with a small wispy white head that left a few speckles of lacing on the glass. Aroma of toasted grains, light citrusy hops. Taste was similar, toasted grains, pale malts, lightly hopped, citrus zest with a slight bitterness. Mouthfeel was clean, body was light-medium, with the oatmeal addition not really making a significant contribution. Decent, sessionable, but not really memorable.
