2010 vintage, 8 years old been sitting in teh beer cellar, and now time to get it out of the way.

Pours a little fizzy head with a bit of lacing, nice for the abv and age, fairly hazy caramel color

Nose is about what I expected unfortunately some oxidation, a little cardboard but not much, stale, a bit of the nice soft aged malt as well as some layered sugars, toffee, caramel, candied sugar, candied white raisin, some nice dark fruits, sugar date, fig, faint spices, burnt creme brulee

Taste is very sweet, much more than I expected esp for how old it is, but also a soft layering of sweetness and malts, soft aged malt flavors almost old ale like character, lots of candy, loads of caramel and various caramelization levels of sugars, toffee and a touch nutty, into fruits again, candied white raisin, sweet fig and mejoul dates, raisiny and spices like cinnamon, toasted reddish sweet malts, almost no alcohol, biscuity toffee late with more sweetness and a bit of bitterness kicking in late, sweet but clean finish, not sticky or boozy.

Mouth is med to heavier bod, not very thick though, smooth caramel feel, light on the carbonation

Overall surprisingly pretty good, a bit of oxidation at first that seems to blow away, nice soft aged malt effect and layered sweet characters, body was a bit thin as well as carbonation, but alcohol was hidden very well. Enjoyable for an 8 year old beer.
