Scored an imperial pint today at the Brewery.
It's a medium shade of golden, with a bit of cloudiness within. Carbo is fine but active and plentiful. The head is a touch off-white and creamy, with solid lacework. Aroma is pithy and citrussy, with lots of west coast action. The body just makes it to medium, though there is a bit of a rough, prickly feel.
Flavor starts off with some dry, crackery malt action hitting the palate, lending a hint of sweetness to the bier. But right after that it's all hops! There's some lemon peel and grapefruit, with lots of pithy, rindy characteristics. The finish is a bit dry, and a healthy dose of bitterness lingers in the mouth. Could use a hit more of sweetness, but this is still tasty and well made. Prosit!
