10 oz. Goblet @ Brewpub: This one pours a darker, clear golden color, with just a hint of head on it. This one also has a somewhat sweet nose. It is a little thin, and cainly caramel malt. The taste is sweet, mainly consisting of some caramel and dark fruits. Decent.

Picked up a few bomber bottles in the Portsmouth Brewpub gift shop. Clear yellowish orange color with a short 1/4" head. Spotty lacing develops. The aroma was a blast of sweet malt, candy, ripe fruits and alcohol. The flavor was simply amazing, as thick malt, toffee, caramel, sweet fruits, hint of pepper, alcohol, and a piney bitterness made my tastebuds jump for joy.
Medium - heavy in body. Mouthfeel was smooth and mildly syrupy at the start and finish. The finish was long of the malty sweetness. Nicely drinkable and extremely enjoyable. I should have bought a case of this !

Hit the Pub yesterday with Alewife and the Daughters for some lunch and, of course, Bier!!
A new Bock? Come to Papa!! The color was a striking golden hue, clear throughout, and with a trickle of bubbles here and there heading topside. Not much head at all in my pours (though a hard pour from a growler I brought home later produced a healthy head of white foam). A touch of lacing leaves its mark in the glass.
Nose was of light toasty/bready malt with an enticing tropical fruitiness. Not overly strong, yet inviting still. Body was well above medium, bordering on full, but not quite. Exceedingly smooth and creamy on the tongue.... liquid velvet...
Flavor is a solid semi-sweetness; toasty and malty (and yummy). Heaped upon this is a slathering of fruitiness - mango, pear, a touch of apple. 'Twas luscious! Light floral hoppiness rounds things out, with the fruity/sweet combo lingering long and hard. Unsure of the abv, but it does make itself known, leaving a warm glow inside. I could drink this all night! Hell yeah!!
(One side-note: They serve this bier normally in a 12oz tulip, due to the higher abv. Yet, shockingly, they ALSO upped the price, to $5.00 a serving. I can see getting a pint for $5.00, or 12oz for the regular price of $3.75, but why the double-whammy? And a growler refill goes for $16.00!!! An inquiry has been made to management there....).
Zum Wohl!!!

Picked some fruit out of season with this one on 6/5/2005. Looked like a 10-oz. pour in a tumbler, although it could have been 12.
Lightly swirling skim of head, really not covering the top and allowing me to look straight down the pour. Lovely orange hue with crystal clarity, touches of glinting gold on the edges. Fairly mute for the most past, although some lazy carbonation found its way to the top throughout the session. Orange peel, rock candy, clover grass, and juicy malt all coalesce in the nose, creating an almost too sweet bouquet. Fat malt on mouth, but dried out by the light orange zest, hints of corriander, fruit loops, and some light pepperiness. Overall, a somewhat think feel on the mouth, but becausee it finishes so smoothly it does not act as a bully.
Easily another knock-out punch by the crew at the Brewery!
