Poured into my Allagash chalice out of a Portsmouth growler:
Cherry amber color with a faint wisp of head. A Belgian spiced ale with notes of orange, coriander, cinnamon, and star anise in the nose. The trappist yeast really shines through from start to finish. It reminds me of a well-balanced, rounded, and more drinkable Chimay Red. At 7%, it's not quite a session beer, but it's big enough to warm the cockles of my heart in the cold New England winter.
