Bought a draw of Stephan Urquell because, c'mon, that's a good goddamn name for a beer.
Pours pale yellow, highly effervescent with a nice white head. Smells of crisp barely and aggressive saaz hops.
Tastes like the mirror image of its namesake (that is, of the beer from Plzen, not the nerd from TV). Aggressive saaz hops throughout, balanced nicely by crisp malt profile. Delicate and complicated with no esters whatsoever.
Excellently done! Everyone seems to regard Portsmouth badly now that Todd Mott's opened his own place, but every beer I had here was very good.

Draught @ Brewpub: Served in a flute. This one pours a hazy, straw yellow color. There was a thin white head that left some lace. It has a lighter nose. Faint malts as well as some floral and earthy notes. It has a medium to lighter body. Just a touch bitter, some malts. Nice.

Had on tap. Bubbly clear golden, white cap. Grass and herb hops with pilsner malts and slight citrus. Taste is a clone, not super clean but decently crisp. Medium bodied, higher carbonation, with good brightness through out. A crusher for all seasons

Enjoyed on tap at the source.
Comes to the table in a tall pilsner glass a mostly clear deep golden straw color with a smallish bone white head that slowly dissipates. smells of bready pilsner malt with an earthy spicy floral hop presence. No off aromas no diacytyl. The flavor is a little sweet rich and malty with a solid hit of bready pilsner malt. Solid spicy earthy hop presence is forward enough to keep this brew interesting. Medium body with a moderate to high level of carbonation and a sweet bready mouthfeel. This is a damn fine example of a Czech pilsner, I practically inhaled this brew.
