22oz, Picked up 10/22/12 (Best Before Date 4/13)
Deschutes tulip

A: Pours a hazy muted orange color. Not a lot of head. Slightly eggshell white big bubbles. Forms into a ring around the edges. Leaving some lacing.

S: Smells more like a balanced pale than an IPA. Mostly muted hop smells. Orange marmalade. Orange pith. Bready malts.

T: Tip of the tongue, slight hop bitterness. That orange fruity hop that you smelled. Some mild pine. Then that hop is greeted by the malt bill. Finish isn't as crisp and dry as I fingered. Some lingering malt.

M: Medium bodied.

Stopped into the Brewpub on 20Oct12 and had one of these with a bowl of chili.

Had an imperial pint of this. Color was a deep golden/light copper, and it was a bit hazy. Head was creamy and light egg-shell colored, maintained a thin layer and did up some good lacing. Nose was mild, with some rindy notes and a hint of mint. Had a solid medium body, with little roughness going down.

Sweetness was subtle and faded fast. Had a good amount of citrus - orange, apricot and grapefruit. Was a touch bitter, pithy even. Had a herbal, minty character at the finish. Pretty good, though I am not super keen on Glacier. Prosit!!
