In a week whose weather has felt quite English, it made sense to debut a beer whose essence is straight from the peat-smoked walls of a UK pub.
Brewed with English malt, hops, and yeast, this malt-forward delight is nutty and biscuity, with just the right amount of hops to balance out its caramel sweetness.
Clocking in at a sessionable 5.8%, this beer was made for passing by the rainy evenings in good company and good beer.

Had Five Wits ESB at the Five Wits tap room on draft into 12-oz. straight-sided tumbler ($2 lunch beer), and also poured from 32-oz. crowler, filled at the tap room, into nonic pint.
Pours deep orange-amber yet with apparent clarity and a 1/2-finger near-white head, and decent retention, leaving some sketchy lace. Mild floral and tart stone fruit aromas off pour, joined by mild caramel malt as warms. Light body and light carbonation deliver mild caramel malt, and a little stone fruit, before a classic creamy, buttery biting but not really "bitter" finish.
Beautiful example of a classic ESB.
