Tasted from a crowler filled at the brewpub.
L – Straw-colored beer is lightly hazy, but not milk-shake like as so many NEIPAs are. Thick, sticky white head is persistent as a thin but full blanket that covers the beer and makes solid lace on the glass.
S – Delicious aromas are a seamless medley of citrus and tropical fruit hops with biscuit-like malt.
T – Mix of mango, guava, pineapple and grapefruit. Interestingly, the emphasis is on the citrus/grapefruit initially, then on the tropical fruit as the beer warms and breathes. Some malt at a lower level toward the finish that comes across as bready and sweet.
F – Heavy, silky body with full, creamy carbonation. Slightly mouth-coating finish. Medium to high hops bitterness. Low alcohol presence.
O – This is a nice NEIPA, very West Coast-ish at first, but mellowing into more NEIPA-like character as it warms and breathes.
