Floral. Malty. Smooth.
This is a smooth, bready, golden colored helles bock with a slightly elevated floral hop character. It is basically our original lager on steroids.

Poured from a 16oz can into a SP Willi Becher pint glass. Pours a deep gold to light orange color with a finger of firm white foam head. Floral, fruity and slightly minty / spicy hops on the nose. There’s some sweet malt notes in the background but it’s really more floral hops than a thing. Tastes follows with the spicy hops in the forefront and a malty sweet and smooth finish. This is quite the elixir. Full mouthfeel. Just enough carbonation. A beefed up lager that’s still approachable and plenty drinkable. ‘All about the hops’ is what the can says and I can agree with that but the malt plays its part too. Really damn good.

16oz can, dated 05.08.2023, poured into 16oz tumbler glass. Enjoyed on 05.19.2023, reviewed from Tasting Journal.

The beer pours a copper, golden amber, slight chill haze, foamy white head, nice retention and lacing. The aroma is nice, biscuit dough, pilsner malt, floral and herbal hop, delicate fruitiness, mineral water. The flavors are good, lots of dough, pale cereal grain, soft fruit, very floral, lightly herbal, and a touch of bitter pine. The mouthfeel is good, coating, super smooth, medium body, with a creamy full finish.

Verdict: A very nice Maibock from Goldfinger. Balanced, easy going, delicate flavors that really leap out of the glass, a nice way to welcome spring.

Pours an almost clear golden color with a foamy off white head that lingers as a cap on the beer and provides some stringy lacing. Gorgeous Maibock. The nose is crammed with honey wheat bread aromas and some floral hop notes. OMG.

The taste is all about the “bread as a meal” character bock beers gravitate to, and this beer does so deliciously with the honey wheat bread notes leading the taste and the floral hop flavors preventing this magnificent beer from becoming too cloying.

The mouthfeel is on the softer side with a dry finish, perfect for this beer. I wish I had a keg of this fantastic representation of the style.

16 ounce can into a goblet. Had 8/28/23.

Pours a clear golden color, with a half inch foamy head and light foamy lacing. Aromas of malt, bread, floral hops, a little yeast, a definite white grape note. Flavors of malt, floral hops, some bread, light caramel, some earthy hops on the finish. The taste also has a definite white grape note. Smooth, a very good light body, appropriately carbonated- but it fades a little.

Another great effort from these guys. Lots of flavor, more floral than others of the style. Very enjoyable.

Canned 5-8-23, reviewed 5-14-23. 16 ounce can poured into my short Becher.

L -- Clear, deep gold with a sudsy white head that settles to a persistent cap.

S -- Doughy malts and herbal hops in good concert. Slightest grape note as is often observed in fresh Bavarian beers.

T -- Sweet, doughy malts without being cloying. Mellow herbal hop backbone. Slightest alcohol pepperiness in the finish, but doughy malts and lightly bitter, herbal hops command the aftertaste.

F -- Mouthfeel is soft to lightly syrupy with a dry finish. Medium body.

O -- Aside from the meager head, this is a great rendition of the style. Nicely chewy malts with the right level of hops in flavor and bitterness. Takes me back to my Munich Spring.

Had on tap. Somewhat murky amber body with two fingers of white foam, lacing is thick. Aromas of caramel malt, flowers, honey and light biscuit. Taste is on the sweeter end of the spectrum with lots of malt influence, botanicals, namely flowers, finish with lightly bready yeast. Not sure why it is getting knocked, everything you want in a maibock is there, though sweeter. Feel is malt forward with bready accents, bright yet heavier for style. The wife loved it

Canned 4/13/21; drank 5/4/21 @ the Yarchives.

See-through orange appearance.

A rough pour yielded a huge white head; strong, frothy lace.

Fresh bread, caramel corn & faint fresh flower notes in the nose.

Creamy medium thick mouthfeel.

Caramel corn, fresh flowers & faint hop bite flavors.

I think I get the "maibock" vibe...it's getting warmer, but it's not summer. You want a lighter beer, but not a summer sipper. Overall, it's a hard vibe to nail, and this one comes a bit too far on the syrup-y vibe, but it's good enough to recommend. I'd have another.
