A dry, light, and effervescent pilsner featuring 100% Polish hops.
Our second brand new beer we will be tapping at our GOLDFINGER FIRST LAGERVERSARY party is our Polish-style Pils. This light bodied, dry, straw colored Pils features two Polish hop varieties which add a bright lemon zest, floral and earthy quality that is supported by a graham cracker malt flavor.
For this beer, we partnered with our friends @omegayeast to be among the first breweries to test out a modified version of our house lager strain that is designed to enhance the already existing flavor and aroma compounds in our malt and yeast. High quality raw materials are critical for producing great beer, but particularly in lagers where the drinking experience relies heavily on subtlety. Pairing our meticulously selected malts and hops with what is referred to as a "thiolized" version of our yeast strain from Omega Yeast, takes the already existing precursors in our raw materials and unleashes them, resulting in incredibly complex flavors.

Pours a lightly cloudy but still see-through golden color. Thick four-finger white sudsy head forms on the beer. The head lingers momentarily before dissipating leaving behind just a thin layer of velvety foam on top of the beer. Lovely layers of sticky white foam coat the glass as the beer is consumed. Aroma has notes of white bread, graham cracker, lemon, lemon drop, with a slight hint of herbs.
The taste follows the nose with notes of white bread, dried straw, cracker malts and a slight graham crackery note. The hops bring notes of lemon, candied lemon rind, lemon grass, and some herbal spicy notes. For lack of a better time term the overall impression is refreshing. Feel is light and crisp with just a light hint of bitterness on the finish. Bright, vibrant carbonation. Semi-dry finish.
Overall another delicious lager from Goldfinger.

16oz tall boy poured into Riverlands Dimpled Mug
canned on date: 7/27/21.
Appearance: Golden straw yellow body. Massive bone white head. Tons of lacing clinging to the glass. Head drops down to a small clump of foam floating on top the beer.
Smell: fresh baked biscuits with spicy & herbal hops.
Taste: Nice malt backbone that is lightly sweet and tastes like buttermilk biscuits. Lightly fruity lager yeast. Hops are lightly herbal and moderately spicy. Lingering spicy hop finish with a hinting of lemon grass herbal note. Nicely balanced between malt and hops; yet both are boldly flavored.
Mouthfeel: Light body lager with moderate carbonation levels. Leans more towards substantial malt profile and hop profile than a crushable lager.
Overall: I have liked Goldfinger beers so far, but it wasn't until Grodziskie and this Polish Pils that I really have jumped onto the Goldfinger bandwagon. I am a hard core fan boy of New Glarus and Dovetail; yet I now fully approve of Goldfinger. Goldfinger is now held to those high standards of those breweries as well because they are really killing it lately!

Had on tap. Somewhat cloudy golden body with two fingers of pearl white foam. Aromas of lemon, rotting apple, floral hops and sneaky robust yeast and grains for a pils, kind of strange all together and clash a bit. Taste is seamless in comparison, apple and malt bond well with grains and finishing big lemon, flowers and honey brightening through the sip. Feel is smooth, medium bodied, decently crisp, and generally well made through the whole sip. I just find the nose to be a little off putting, otherwise it is a lovely pilsner

I really liked this one. It was very floral and earthy with some sweetness from the malt and from the honey. There was a slight lemon taste at the end that really helped tie it all together. And the honey really made it smooth!
