Using the highest quality French wood supplied by Creative Oak, we set out to create an oak-aged version of our Original lager without detracting from the integrity of the base beer. We used single origin French Oak that is typically used for imparting subtle oak character in lighter French wines.

16 ounce can into a pilsner glass. Canned 4/7/25, had 7/12/25.

Pours a pale, clear golden color, with a two inch head of spongy foam and a good amount of foamy lacing. Very good retention. Aromas of oak, malt, some yeast, light smoke. Has a bit of an herbal aroma. Flavors of oak, malt, light bread and yeast, light char. Tastes herbal. Smooth, a very good lighter body, well carbonated.

The oak really brings the Original Lager up a notch, as do the smoke and char notes. This is in the top tier of what I’ve had from these guys, although I seem to say that almost every time there’s a new beer. A solid effort.

This is original lager improved with oak aging for sure! All the flavors of original lager with a nice toasty oak and vanilla sweetness added to the flavor profile. No hop flavors to speak of in the finish either which makes this a more enjoyable version of Goldfinger Original lager. It's absolutely delicious. It's also ruined Goldfinger Original lager for me.

I had this on draft 11/2/23 @ the Hopleaf.

Mostly see-through light orange appearance.

Small off-white head; a thick curtain of tree-rung lacing remained.

Oak, bread, light smoke & faint sweet corn notes in the nose.

Medium thin mouthfeel.

Oak, wheat bread & light smoke notes in the nose; mild sweet corn notes on the finish.

Sweet, smoky & interesting.

Not better than the original version, in my opinion, but certainly worth a quaff.
