Subtle aromas of citrus and spice, over a bread and cracker malt character, finishing dry with lingering flavors of rye and lemon.

really cool place, came in right at opening time on a lovely fall afternoon, super neat spot, especially out back overlooking the water. i was impressed with the vibes but also the beers we had, on a heavy hangover they were still appealing to me, and that says a lot, a glowing endorsement really. this is a rye based table saison, clean no funk, but interesting enough to stand out, almost in the biere de garde range in terms of color and malt character, sprinkling in some peppery rye but leaving it a little less than dry, i love the flavors and textures here, and the low alcohol was exactly right for me at the time. copper to light amber in color, off white head nearly an inch tall on top, enough carbonation. the nose here is spicy, sweet, toasted, and fuller than anticipated for this being a low alcohol as it is, some neat back and forth between the rye and the yeast, subtly vinous, deeply earthy, heart and warming for what it is. the flavor follows, hints of chestnut, graham cracker, and dark bread, faint almond and brown sugar, an almost granola thing going on, rye spice rides out in front at the end, definite yeasty esters, clean not funky, but that doesnt mean it isnt complex, some white pepper, clove, and light anise all in the mix. tobacco and raisin as it warms, more body than expected, and a refreshing vibe to it at the end for being so malty throughout. really nicely made beer, expertly refined, just what the doctor ordered! cool place, ill carve out more time to hang here next time through!
