drank on tap at MBC on 7.3.08

clear and crisp appearance. again - not much aroma at all- i am starting to think there was something wrong with the glassware at MBC because i didn't much of a smell in any of the beers i had there that day. there was a sweet malty smell that i noted, but i didn't get any hints of raspberry in the smell at all. once i tasted it, the fruit certainly came through. in fact, i think there was almost too much fruit in the taste of this beer which causes a bit of an imbalance from a taste and mouthfeel.

beer poured a medium copper with a decent head.
Clarity was an issue here...had a bit of cloudyness and haze.
Smelled good, sweet rasberry with a nice malt undertone.
Taste was also good, not overly fruity, but good. Good mouthfeel and balance. The malts showed as well as the fruit.
Pretty good beer.

Picked this one up after lunch and a couple pints yesterday. It was my attempt to let the wife know that I was thinking about her on my latest beer excursion.

This one pours from the growler a kind of murky brownish amber color. I got a thin white head that faded to a ring quickly. There is some lacing and a few bubbles.

This has a bit of a grainy, fruity aroma. Yes I know...who would have expected fruit? The grain is not malt exactly. I mean, I homebrew, and this kinds smells like grain during the mash. Interesting and not at all unpleasant. It is both enhanced and complemented by the raspberry smell

Taste is big with raspberry, but there is some of that grainy earthiness to it that makes this one a bit more rugged than the average fruit beer. OK I admit it. I bought it for the wife but I'll share the growler with her until it is gone.

Medium body, and decent carbonation, this one is nice al the way down. I could easily do my half of the growler in one sitting.

Served up in a pitcher at Marietta Brewing...appears a cloudy pink tinted hazed golden hue with a large off white head atop, leaves behind even lacing as it dwindles in my pint. Aroma contains light citrus notes and raspberry syrupy notes some sugariness is definitely the prime character noted here. Flavor wasn't horrible especially for the style, wasn't overbearing in the raspberry department had some crisp wheat character to it along with an herbal citrus bite it was okay. Mouthfeel was light to medium bodied with a slighty residual sugar coating of light syrup texture. Drinkability was decent although my group preferred their standard hefeweizen during our drinking session watching a great funk band there.

I love fruit wheat beers on occasion, but this one just didn't do it for me. It came across a little too tart. It had a lovely red tint to the normal hazy golden hefeweizen appearance, and a small fine head. If you like fruit beers, it is worth a try. I've just had raspberry wheats that I liked better.

This is an exellent sipping brew when you just want to relax.
The colour is a nice pinkish/red and hazy, the carbonation is light as is the crown with thin lacing and ring.
The nose is of....raspberry, no surprize there.
The taste is lightly malted to begin, then a charge of a raspberry fizz to balance and end.
The body is a medium.Very impressive.

Got the Marietta Raspberry Wheat at Casa Nueva in Athens, OH. This is one of my top 5 beers.
Appearance - off the tap there's a very small head, has a copper type color.
Smell- some raspberries, some of that wheat beer smell like a Blue Moon
Taste- awesome; it has that great wheat beer texture and taste with a little bit of sweetness from the raspberries; the berries aren't overdone though
Mouthfeel- excellent; this is a beer you could drink all night or with a good meal
Will definitely drink more of this in the future.
