Got this beer from the Beer Circus in East Croydon, London. The BB date is 28/10/05.
A: dark yellowish hue with orangey hint, with a nice and tight, thin but frothy beer head lasting forever, buttressed by abundant fizz.
S: nice banana-dominated aroma, like a standard hefe-weizen, but with more intervention of spice on the nose--banana skin, light note of bubble gum, sweetish lemony, yeasty, thick & bready wheatish aroma, hint of tar, with underlying clove-like spice at the back. Very settled, rounded, nice.
T: lightly sour-sweet fruity and creamy wheatish texture upfront, fast giving way to a slightly savoury+sweet palate (like that I found in another beer Etalon); more sweet-lemony and warmish grainy flavour left at the back, underlined by deep-running (not loud) clove and soft floral hops, turning dryish towards the end.
M&D: creamy and bubbly mouthfeel initially, gradually softening and remaining refreshing throughout; finished with a relatively clean and crisp palate. A medium-flavoured, good honest hefe-weizen IMO, but lacking some "wow" elements to be moreish.
