Cosmic Echoes returns with another dynamic blend stouts and barleywines. The final blend showcases a fusion of two stouts and four barleywines that aged in seven different types of oak barrels. Cosmic Echoes generates hypnotic reverberations of candied figs, baking spice, milk chocolate ganache, meadow foam honey, and slated English toffee. The experience holds you comfortably close while it simultaneously nudges your palate towards exploration.

Batch 2 (2021 bottling); consumed on 6/3/2022
Pours a silky, midnight-black body topped with a finger of wavy, fluffy, caramel-hued foam; decent head retention fades to a nearly blank surface, leaving a rich, frothy collar and minimal-no lacing clinging to the walls of the glass.
Aroma bursts with rich whipped milk chocolate alongside a balancing oak carrying bourbon caramels, musty honey, and a casual, well-attenuated roast; a dark fruit amplification steadies layers over time, while undertones of toasted vanilla and raisiny esters linger with a persistent whiskey flow.
Taste sees boozy milk chocolate into bourbon-imbued oak tingling the front of the profile, sporting honey underpinnings intertwined with dark fruits and a barleywine-leaning rich caramel over the mid-palate; baked fig esters show on the back end, with lightly smoked toffee with edges of dark chocolate closing.
Mouthfeel brings a medium body and low carbonation, silky textures hinting at a wispy grit into pseudo-creaminess over the mid-palate; warmth throughout beckons a steadied finish with a dryness lingering.
A pure integration of barleywine within stout, sporting all the requisite richness leveled to balance while presented with sweetness enveloped in roast and barrel intensity; a marriage of both barrels and styles done with expert precision and rounded, malty decadence.

500 mL bottle. Black, no head, slightly transparent at the edges. Smells of bourbon, oak, brown sugar, a little cinnamon. Tastes of bourbon, brown sugar, cinnamon spice, tingly booze. A little roasted malt and milk chocolate in the finish. Heavy, boozy, moderately sweet. But tasty overall.
