done in collaboration with mother earth, a nice get for a new spot like this. its dubbed a milk stout latte, and there is coffee added. its simple but good, not all that sweet for being a milk stout, and is exceedingly well done, probably the best non ipa type i have had here so far, this being my third or maybe fourth visit. the color isnt black, it lets some light pass, and has a short head by the time it gets to our table, but the aroma and flavor are nice, not overly coffee driven, there is just as much roast and low end bitterness from the dark grain, but there is something warming and hearty about this nevertheless. there is nice balance here, crazy approachable for the style too, and smooth without being all that full bodied. honestly its a touch thin in feel for what it is, but the high carbonation and relative dryness for the style make up for it, and this ends up as more of a session stout to me. the coffee is well integrated, they didnt over malt this, and the fermentation is clean, which is thankfully becoming a theme here. some might wish for this to be more robust, but i quite enjoyed its reserved nature and high refinement. cool collaboration.
