Draft at brewery. Dark, opaque brown pour with a thin, creamy beige head, solid lacing. Aroma features mild sweetness, light roast, chocolate. Taste is simple roasty malts, mild sweet notes, smooth and silky feel.

basic but well made, that was sort of the theme of all the beers on our recent visit here, everything was technically solid but in a lot of ways unexciting, and this one really exemplifies that, its roasty and oaty and smooth and bitter and cleanly fermented, but its also generic as they come, nothing about it sets it apart, cool with a spicy pizza here, and nice on a cooler afternoon on their patio, but nothing special. deep brown but not black in color, frothy tan headed looks nice in the pint glass with a little shine to it. aroma of fresh ground coffee and wet soil, some light vanilla perhaps, a raisin note, simple. the flavor is roast up front with some dark chocolate and cocoa powder in the center from the malt, then just a little breadiness from the yeast in the finish, some bitterness there but its mild. again right on but super straightforward, a faint hint of smoke if i look for it. the feel is alright, its smooth from the oats but maybe a little thin, its not frothy and creamy and soft like i generally like these to be, but its got enough structure to handle the flavor. clean finish. overall this is well done, could have had several pours, but it also could have come from a million other breweries, i want a little more identity and personality in my beer than this, even though its good...
