Taster at Shade City Brewfest. Cloudy golden pour with a sturdy head. Aroma brings hints of banana and bubblegum. Taste continues with the weizen flavors, however, but lacks the full, bready body of the German style.

another decent beer with a lame name, but maybe the weakest of the beers we had while we were here this time. its wheaty which is nice, but it almost presents more like a witbier, the yeast is more spicy and belgian estery than german to me, and this is thin and dry rather than creamy and fluffy and full, but if you like a yeast forward wheat beer, this should appeal to you. pale and a bit cloudy, short white head, decent carbonation. it smells spicy like clove and white pepper, but instead of the familiar banana note the style is known for, we get green pear, white grape, and curiously enough a little sweet citrus, pleasant sure, but not quite traditional, its definitely been fermented plenty warm, perhaps this is the outer limit profile for this yeast strain, extreme conditions. the flavor is similar, i like that i can taste the pale wheat malt, and there is some dry earthiness to this, the yeast is a little over the top, and the body really isnt quite there to support it, but the flavors are summery and its lightness might be part of the seasonal appeal. a little soapy on the swallow as it warms, but thats not way out of place. decent brew, could be refined a bit, serviceable but unremarkable.
