Appearance: Pours chocolate brown with some bubbles that never form a head; once they fade, the liquid is translucent around the edges
Smell: Ashy aromatics with strong chocolate and caramel tones
Taste: There is a fruity, dark cherry element that arrives first but is quickly overwhelmed by the ashy, bitter flavor that seems to be a combination of roast and hops; underneath the chocolate and caramel add sweetness
Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with no carbonation
Overall: A very unusual interpretation of an RIS that seems rather inchoate
Thanks, JohnGalt1, for the opportunity

Taster at Spring Creek. Dark brown pour, ring of beige head. Aroma is roasty malts with notes of chocolate. Taste is roasty, mild sweetness and some bitterness, chocolate. Solid stout.
