they call this a hoppy table beer, probably more rightly listed a saison, but either way another delicate and unique drinker from these guys, dry hopped with simcoe and sabro this time around, that must change from batch to batch, but this is a great hop combination, especially with this distinctive saison yeast, really nice mix of flavors, nothing overdone, they are doing a nice job of crafting unique beers in a fairly soft voice, i have a lot of love for that approach, and i could drink 30 of these i think. only 4.5% abv listed on their menu. looks like a pils to me, golden yellow like that and pretty clear from the faucet, and there is two plus inches of peaky white head on this not budging at all. the nose and taste are brimming with fruity hoppy freshness, but not even close to forced, its still light to me, just distinct, up front, and poppy, more grapefruit from the simcoe, less of its usual pine, and the sabro hits with coconut flesh, green grape, and lemon balm, really unique on top of the super light grain base, perhaps more pils than wheat there, and the yeast, which is vinous on its own too, and slightly funky compared to some of their others, still estery, but maybe a little young brett chiming in too. its clean to drink but uniquely complex, i love what seems to be their house yeast, and its great with these hops. some oils swirling in the texture but this stays real light, lemony at the end, fresh as can be, and overall just delicious, quenching, and intriguing. great brew!
