Pours an intense deep amber brown. Looks great! Smell and taste are dominated by rye. Hops are a bit too muted for my liking. But this is a great example of a hoppy rye beer. A style that is hard to find in the current market.

3/21/26 - (Can, Home) (Chicago, IL) Can Notes: Purchased a refrigerated four pack for $17.63 including tax at The Beer Temple on February 4, 2026. I refrigerated upon returning home until opening this morning. 16 oz, no can date but this was Supermoon's first drop in Chicago on January 30, 2026, Batch 002. 6.0% ABV Red Rye India Pale Ale brewed with Citra & Ekuanot. Refermented + Naturally Carbonated in this package. Yeast sediment will form. Serve Chilled. Supermoon Beer Company LLC is a family and brewer-owned business in the Bay View community of Milwaukee. Located at 3145 South Howell Avenue, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Appearance: Poured about 12 oz into a shaker pint glass yielding a crystal clear bronze red base, creamy generous tan head leaving soapy lacing and a creamy bubbly cover over the entire base. Carbonation slows to a trickle after initial pour burst. 4.5
Aroma: Citrus and rye all day long. Mild strength, medium plus enjoyment. 3.75
Taste: Broader flavor than the aroma yielded, starting with a strong nice seedy rye, citrus, caramel, toffee and unexpected dark chocolate. Rye strengthens as this warms, with strawberries and blueberries entering the picture. Everything coming together great. 4.5
Mouthfeel: Dry, faint carbonation, drinks at or a bit above the ABV. Bitterness wards off any excess flavor while letting the various flavors come through. Caramel citrus rye finish. 4.25
Overall: Overall, this is an excellent rye IPA. Expected flavors came through nicely, unexpected flavors a bouns.. Well done Supermoon, will share these and buy more the next drop. 4.5
