"Thum" in Lao refers to the pounding of a mortar and pestle, but also means "cheers.” "Phuk" means “to chop.” Our debut beer is brewed in Burlington, WI by our partners at Low Daily. Saaz and Sorachi Ace hops provide an herbal lemon backdrop to this exceptionally clean lager brewed with sticky rice, flaked rice, and pilsner malt.
Thum Phuk stems from the Lao refugee experience. 2 million tons of bombs were dropped on Laos during the Vietnam War. Over 30% of the country is still covered in unexploded ordnance (UXO). 5% of profits from Thum Phuk beverages fund We Help War Victims to remove UXO from Laos.
