No canning date (released on 3/24/21, so presumably canned within a few days of that date); consumed on 4/26/21
Pours a substantially hazy, glossy burnt orange body capped with multiple fingers of soapy, fluffy, white foam; good head retention leaves a slight though rocky cap over the surface along with a moderate ring of frothy collar and the occasional cluster of webby lacing spread around the walls of the glass.
Aroma opens with resinous tangerine softening into tones of pineapple bubblegum followed by touches of zesty key lime over the middle; a semi-sweet tropical fruit backbone established, notes of guava peel, peppery grass, clementine, and a touch of orange cream come in waves through the close.
Taste shows earthy pineapple trickle into tropical bubblegum elevated with a semi-zesty key lime and orange peel mid-palate; dirt-laden moss enhances raw earth on the back end as slick guava nectar transitions into prickly, candied grapefruit peel on the finish.
Mouthfeel brings a medium-full body and a prickly puff of moderate carbonation dissipating to resinous, oily textures over mid-palate peaking with a juicy brightness; the back end glistens into a subtly apparent booziness and ultra-mild astringency tingling suggesting touches of earthy bitterness on the palate toward the finish.
An indecisive tango of earthy and fruity elements wavering throughout a NEIPA guided by the varying depths of its resin profile; a work-in-progress with a baseline indicating plenty of potential in entertaining the palate.
