part of a rotating series of ipa types where the hops apparently change each time, this one was the best of their hoppy stuff we had in my opinion, and like all of their other beers, very unique, even as the same hazy ipa style goes, this stands out to me. they use a cool mix of hops, with cryo citra leading the way for me in front of motueka and an experimental hbc 472, which should probably have a name by now. its citrusy sure, but uniquely so to me, lemongrass and meyer lemon and tangerine zest, with a coconut note, green grape, ripe pear, and even a green herbal note, like floral tea or something, jasmine, its summery and awesome, and the coolest part is that the flavor is as good and as bright as the nose. there is no drop off at all. this looks a lot heavier in the glass than it feels on the palate to, nicely carbonated, very dry, with a softness of texture and a nice hop linger, but exceedingly clean on the ferment and distinct from start to finish, which is increasingly hard to do in this style. i love the freshness, the multigrain texture it has, and the way the cryo hops burst through the haziness to really sparkle in this. i could have several, which is not always the case with the hazy ones for me. very well done objectively speaking, super modern and good.
