Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque black in the glass with a two finger dark khaki head with great retention and thick lacing; looks great. Aroma of dark toasted malt, cocoa, toasted almond and mixed nuts. Flavor is dark toasted malt, toasted almond, fudge, mild raisins and coconut. Almond Joy finish, but not as sweet; faint fruit tartness. Medium to heavy bodied with milkshake creaminess, wow. They had me at the blended name between a great candy bar and band. The stout is great too. A classic pastry base with good chocolate and almond, but only a touch of coconut. No coconut in the aroma. The almond tastes toasted, giving a little umami to the flavor. The body is super creamy and almost thick, which is appealing to me in a stout. Nicely done pastry stout befitting its name.
